as of 2:00 pm June 2, 2020:

Tested: 322

Positive: 12

Negative: 309

Pending: 1

Active: 4

Deaths: 1

We did not receive full testing data as of 3:00 pm other than one additional positive case. The number of people tested, and updated negative results will be provided when information is available.

The health department receives daily updated on testing done through Ste Genevieve Memorial Hospital. Each person tested has a specific form with pertinent information that is completed when having the test done.

If an individual test positive for Covid-19, they are called by health department staff to conduct an inquiry investigation. Each person is asked about symptoms, individuals they have been in contact with in the past two weeks, and locations where they have spent time outside their home. They are instructed to monitor their symptoms, including temperatures, twice daily, and to report any development of symptoms. They are monitored by phone everyday by health department staff. Kits that include a thermometer, monitoring form, and information are available as needed. They need to stay home and away from others for two weeks. They are released from monitoring and self-quarantine after two weeks and if they are fever free without medication for three days, or other symptom free for seven days. Many never do develop symptoms and are released after two weeks.

Persons who have been in contact with a person who has tested positive for Covid-19 are called by health department staff and instructed to stay home for two weeks and follow the same guidelines.

If a community event held in the county is identified as a location where several persons testing positive have been, that location, and the date of event, will be made public, and the health department will make every attempt to contact as many people at the event as possible. Same guidelines will be followed.

Personal information regarding individuals who test positive for Covid-19 will not be shared with the pubic.

Health department staff remain on call every weekend for notifications of positive cases, and will promptly begin the case investigation when notification is received.positive image 12
