Coronavirus update March 20,2020

The Health Department staff are most appreciative of all the positive support we have been receiving from community partners, as well as the community at large. We, at the health department, work together as a closely united team to evaluate the ever-changing situations as they arise, and share ideas for solutions. I am proud to say the same collaborations exists with our community partners.

As of the date and time of this post, there are no confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ste Genevieve County. The hospital has recently begun testing and we have several, very cooperative, individuals who are staying home as a precaution. We are in close daily contact with each of these individuals, and appreciate their desire to keep the community safe.

We continue to encourage everyone to limit social gatherings, travel, and to practice social distancing. We also encourage common sense precautions: wash hands frequently, avoid touching public services without use of hand sanitizer, and use a protective barrier when opening doors, stay home when you are sick, avoid close contact with others who are sick.

We will continue to meet regularly with our community partners, as well as provide frequent updates as they are received.

We will continue to be a resource for information as it develops. Please call the Missouri Hotline number at 877-435-8411 for general Covid-19 questions. For up to date information visit www.cdc.gov.
